Prestigious Caterpillar Award

Milton Keynes Pressings are pleased to announce their re-certification to the Caterpillar Supplier Quality Excellence Process, having been awarded the Silver Level for the 2ndconsecutive year.

Having been re-certified in January 2018, the official presentation took place at the Caterpillar Perkins facility in Peterborough on April 17th. MKP sent a delegation of Martin Stone, Clive Smith, Richard Hill and Phil Brown to accept the award, with the presentation party consisting of Anna Lee (Quality Director), Dave Thomas (SQEP), Terry Heames (SQEP), Allan Wells (Quality) and Nathan Bland (Commodity Buyer).

The Caterpillar SQEP Award was created  as a certification program to recognize those suppliers who demonstrate their commitment to excellence and drive a zero defects culture within their organizations. Suppliers are certified by meeting or exceeding stringent performance standards including product quality and on time delivery.

MKP Group Managing Director Mike Read commented on the award: “ We are delighted to have received this award once again, which is a credit to our enthusiastic, committed and competent workforce. The consistency in the Group’s approach to quality and customer satisfaction ensures that delivery performance, quality and continuous improvement  are monitored and reviewed. MKP supports the Perkins Peterborough plant, which has the capacity to produce up to 500,000 engines a year in a 125,000 square meter factory, producing the fuel efficient 1200 Series, the powerful 400 Series and the popular 1100 Series. The site contains the latest automated and computer controlled-equipment and is also the base for worldwide research and development of engines up to 7.1 litre.
